Bell Witch Cave News

We will be opening the cave and cabin for tours the first Saturday in May of 2012. That is as long as the cave is not flooded. It has been flooded most of the winter. We are getting alot of calls about people wanting to tour the cave here in January. HOpe they can all make it back here this summer.

We are planning on opening  up for the season this Saturday May 7th, but  there will be no tours of the cave.   The cave is flooded  and more rain on the way tomorrow.  We may have the cabin tours and gift shop open. It is best to call before you come to make sure.

Normally we close down for the winter after Halloween. This year we decided to open up for a few weekends in Nov. But due to the low attendance in these first few weekends and the colder weather  we decided to go ahead and close down for the season. We will reopen the first Saturday in May of 2011, weather permitting.

We are getting ready for our big Halloween weekend with haunted hayrides, psychic readings and cave tours until midnight.

This strange picture was taken in the cave around 2 AM on Oct. 6th by a motion activated camera. There was no one in the cave at the time but there had to be some sort of movement in the cave to trigger the camera. The date on the picture is incorrect as I did not have the date set on the camera.

Here is one of the pictures that I found on the camera Friday night Oct. 15th. For some reason all the others were of the ceiling but there were no orbs in them.

We have been having a lot of people coming for the night time tours lately and tonight there were several strange pictures taken.

We are now booking special night time tours for the month of Oct.  We will be doing these any night that someone wants a tour. These are by appointment only. We have to have at least four people to do a tour. These tours will not be available on the last two Friday, Saturday and Sundays in Oct. We will be open to the public on those nights.

Yesterday a group of people heard a loud scream while on a tour of the cave.  The tour guide also saw something strange while he was locking up the gate to the cave. Our tour guide Ray was pretty shaken up from what he had seen and heard in the cave and did not want to do the last tour of the day.

Many people are sending us back rocks by mail to be returned to the cave.  Some are sending letters telling us about the bad luck they have received since taking the rocks.

 On two different tours today people were hearing some strange noises both in the first room and back room of the cave.  Some of these noises were said to be low groaning sounds. On one tour the people said they could hear what sounded like someone was talking way back in the cave.
